CALL FOR PAPERS 2004 International Workshop on Mobile and Wireless Ad Hoc Networking (MWAN04) in conjunction with The 2004 International Conference on Wireless Networks The 2004 International Multiconference in Computer Science and Computer Engineering Monte Carlo Resort Las Vegas, Nevada, USA June 21-24, 2004 WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES Wireless connectivity with mobility support will become an important enabling technology in future computing infrastructure. ÿEspecially, IP-based mobile networks as well as mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) attract a lot of attention with the advent of inexpensive wireless LAN solutions such as IEEE 802.11, HIPERLAN, and Bluetooth technologies. ÿHowever, the introduction of mobility raises a number of new research issues. ÿThis workshop seeks papers describing significant research contributions to the field of mobile ad hoc networking and computing. Technical papers describing original, previously unpublished research, not currently under review by another conference or journal, are solicited. ÿWe are especially interested in the theory, practice, and evaluation of mobile and wireless ad hoc networking, ad hoc computing, and sensor networks. ÿWorkshop topics include (but not limited to): ú ÿÿMedia access techniques ú ÿÿRouting in ad hoc networks (unicast, multicast, etc.) ú ÿÿQuality-of-service issues ú ÿÿSecurity and fault-tolerance issues ú ÿÿSelf-configuration and distributed algorithms for mobile ad hoc networks ú ÿÿTransport-layer issues ú ÿÿInteraction between different layers of mobile ad hoc networks ú ÿÿIntegration and internetworking of wired and wireless networks ú ÿÿMobile ad hoc computing platforms, systems, and testbeds ú ÿÿLow power and energy-efficient designs ú ÿÿDistributed wireless sensor networks ú ÿÿPervasive computing and information services ú ÿÿApplications for ad hoc networks ú ÿÿParallel algorithms for mobile computing systems ÿ WORKSHOP CO-CHAIRS Ben Lee ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿOregon State University (benl@eecs.orst.edu) ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ Chansu Yu ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿCleveland State University (c.yu91@csuohio.edu) ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ Myungchul Kim ÿÿÿÿInformation & Communications University (mckim@icu.ac.kr) ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿ WORKSHOP HOMEPAGE ÿ SUBMISSION Authors are requested to submit draft papers not exceeding 5 pages (single-spaced, font size of 10 or 11) in PDF format that include contact information of all the authors to Prof. Ben Lee (benl@eecs.orst.edu). The length of the cameral-ready papers will be limited to 7 IEEE style pages. ÿIf you have any questions regarding the submission process, please send e-mail to benl@eecs.orst.edu. ÿ PROCEEDINGS The papers from this workshop will be published in the proceedings of The 2004 International Conference on Wireless Networks by CSREA Press (ISBN). The proceedings will be available at the conference (CD version of the proceedings will also be available). ÿSome accepted papers will also be considered for journal publication. ÿ IMPORTANT DATES February 16, 2004: Paper due March 22, 2004: Acceptance notification April 21, 2004: Camera ready papers due
